Morgan possibly deaf

back in May, Loro parque announced that Morgan does not react to the
trainer whistle during training, but that she does react to hand signals.
Already in Harderwijk, trainers noticed that Morgan somehow did not react,
but they wanted to wait and see what happens.
Now in Loro Parque they did some hearing tests with Morgan.
The scientists found out that Morgan is indeed either deaf or has very poor hearing.

The trainers say, Morgan looks totally healthy, but it is unclear if she will participate in shows.
Morgan probably does not care much, she is buisy with her new best friend.

"Morgan is going to Loro Parque now. The chance that she dies, when released, is too large according to Statesecretary Henk Bleker.
He visited the dolfinarium and Morgan with his daughter and said that Morgan must be released if this is possible. "But it would be no real chance, the animal gets then." (...)
The dolfinarium plans for a longer time now to bring Morgan to Loro Parque, Bleker gave his okay to this, but in beginning of august, activists of the Orka Coalitie were successful in preventing the transport by taking the case to the court.

The decision to place Morgan to Loro Parque was done in july 2011, but after pressure from Orka Coalitie, the judge ordered Statesecretary Henk Bleker to control/check on his decision. (...)
The orka coalitie has the opinion, that Loro Parque has no scientific base and therefor is not suited for taking Morgan in.
In september 2011 was a hearing, where Harderwijk dolfinarium and Orka Coalitie could tell their opinions on the case to Bleker, who listened to both sides and later formed his own opinion.
Bleker said, the dolfinarium was caring well for Morgan. Scientists looked for Morgans family and could not find them, even after doing new tests about the sounds. That was not successful.
"An animal like Morgan belongs to the free nature, in my opinion, but not on costs of her well-being. (...) It is also a young animal and we do not know if she can find and catch her own food." (...)
